Love this list. Played most of these games except BioShock (No mention of Deus Ex or System Shock?) and the original Half Life along with the JRPG's (just not my cup of tea).
Forgot to mention LBP and the resurgence on downloadable platformers (Bionic Commando, Megaman 9 etc). But it was a nice article. I still like platformers quite a bit and I'm glad so many platformers came out last year. Now my favorite genre (action adventure) is having a big year this year with Bayonetta, Brutal Legend, Ass Creed 2 etc.
I'm satisfied seeing as my girl Leona is in it. Now if only Yashiro, Shermie or Chris would make the cut as console exclusive characters I would be happy.
Can already make us feel joy and happy with a good experience or something heartwarming. Some people get scared from horror games. I think making us feel sad isn't too far away to be achieved. I can think of at least one moment when I genuinely felt sad (In MGS4 *SPOILER* when Raiden saves Snake from the tanker). I think games moving forward need to not just become more expansive in scope and budget but also subject matter.
I guess this means he can't secretly be working on a new IP like I hoped he would. Ah well I guess I'll just have to wait.
I've been calling that game vaporware for over a year now. That got announced around the same time as Dark Sector and was one oft he first announced games for this gen. No gameplay footage. Ever. Just CG and one lame website. After the main character redesign and NOTHING else after it I've been calling it vaporware and it looks like that's what i'll be.
I preferred Street Fighter 3: 2nd Impact's songs more.
I was just about to get my panties in a bunch over not seeing Mega Man 2 mentioned then bamf it popped up. Good list. I would have put Snake Eater's theme instead of MGS2's but I'm not complaining much.
Major kudo's for the Mafia theme.
I actually think the time trials and speedruns were perfect for the game instead of multiplayer. It fit perfectly.
Either way I'm excited for a sequel. The first is a under rated gem.
Understandable. I'm just glad Uncharted is getting the coverage it deserves. I used to talk about it all the time and a good amount of people didn't know what game I was talking about or didn't play it (2008ish).
My music preference barely ever gets broke into the mainstream. And if it does it's usually in a commercial. Or ends up in Sony's press conference *Laughs*. Fist of God by MSTRKRFT was the song when they announced Gran Turismo for PsP. I was thoroughly surprised and gla...
Get your hands on a beta code and play the coop portion and see how good the game looks. I didn't like the artistic direction in the first game (the only thing I didn't like about the original) but this second ones graphics do look REALLY good.
I never knew HHG had some Jungle fever in him.
Is the reason I brought my Ps3 back in 2007 immediately after finishing GoW2.
Yeah the screencaps from the article was on G4. The video showed about 10 minutes after the Sony press conference ended. It was awesome. It showed the dectectives kind of high tech glove/glasses thing that highlighted clues in a room and it looked amazing. Here let me dig up a link for you.

One of my most anticipated games of this generation. I can't wait for Heavy Rain to finally come out. I never played Indigo Prophecy but the premise for Heavy Rain calls to me. Can't wait for a truly mature game.
This really isn't news since the first one was the same way.
What's wrong with the multiplayer for Uncharted 2 (well judging by the beta that is) for me is that it's uninteresting. I was expecting something more unique and original but it's just regular and plain just set in Uncharted maps. It doesn't have any "feeling" to it for me. And that makes it mediocre. After playing it I would have rather them put more resources in the single player/coop and just had left the competitive multiplayer out. But that's just me.
I just finished playing some Coop with a associate of mines and it's pretty fun. Graphics are amazing. I wish there was more exploration though for the entire group in the set pieces, and the treasures would stand out from ammo a bit more. Hopefully in the full game the coop mode will have a good amount of coop puzzle solving. I really liked the coop quite a bit. It could use a few more dimensions to it but it IS just a small snippet of what's to come. Can't wait to play it with my girlfriend...
But I think the multiplayer beta is uninteresting and very mediocre. It has no feeling to it for me and the gunplay is very ho hum and cookie cutter. The only thing that's good (to me) is the scaling you can do for just about every building in the level. But I think Uncharted 2 should have stayed single player only with just some coop. I have to try out the coop but I'll get to it this weekend. Hopefully it can redeem the beta. Uncharted just isn't one of those "multiplayer" games a...
Well I personally don't need a "HD remix" for SF3 or any of it's incarnations (2nd Impact being my personal favorite). Just release SF3 with online and I would be set. Maybe give it the MvC2 treatment if you need to rope in new people.
Edit @Gametime: Yeah you guys always get the shaft. You guys don't even have a release date for BlazBlue yet (unrelated fighting game I know).
